One of the main objectives of the World Blood Donor Day is to ensure the availability of ‘safe blood’ for donation purpose. The day is also the birth day of Karl Landsteiner, who was the creator of the ABO blood group system. The first celebration day was initiated since 2005.The day is dedicated to the millions of people who save lives and improve the health of others by donating blood.
