Introduction:

International Nurse Day is particularly celebrated to pay sincere regards to the contributions of nurses towards society. The day is celebrated all around the world on different dates which may be differing according to the regions. Various activities, camps and seminars are organized to commemorate the promotional services of nurses.

The International Nurse Day is held on 12th of May every year.

Description:

The Nurse Day is also the birthday of famous Florence Nightingale and celebrated as the birth anniversary, who is remembered as ‘The lady with the lamp’ for her undying commitment and services for the welfare of the society and healthcare. Nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system as they are the only one who cares for their patients round the clock in order to make them healthy as earliest possible. Not only do they carry out prescribed treatment measures, they also provide the balm of comfort and advice to patients during troubled times. Various competitions such as panel discussion, debate & poster making competition and other activities are observed throughout the day in various hospitals and healthcare institutions.
