Mim Kut is among the important festivals of state Mizoram, which is celebrated with great festivity and rejoices all around the state. The festival falls to celebrate the harvesting of the maize crops in which people gather at one place and participate in different acticities.

The Mim Kut festival is held between the months of August and September every year.
Apart from celebrating harvesting season, the people of Mizoram commemorate the day to pay homage to their loved ones who died in the preceding year. For this a big memorial platform is built as the centre. Various eatable items like vegetables, maizes and apparels, accessories and bread are offered to the soul of the deceased during the Mim Kut festival in Mizoram. There is a popular belief behind this deed that the dead people come to their dwelling places as sacred souls during the festival days . Various dance performances which includes tribal dance and songs takes place
Mim Kut is a prime symbolization of the deep faith of the inhabitants of Mizoram in the revisit of the deceased souls as well as the enjoyment of the maize harvest.
