Like many other fairs and festivals of cultural state Rajasthan, Mewar festival is another one fiesta that is celebrated every year in the magnificent city of the state, Udaipur. The festival is celebrated to welcome the advent of spring season. Also during the festival days, celebrations coincide to the famous Gangaur festival.

The time of Mewar festival is held during the Hindi month of Chaitra (March-April)
The Mewar festival of Rajasthan overlaps the Gangaur festival, where among the colorful celebrations, various women in a procession carrying the idols of Isar and Gangaur with full fledged ornaments and colorful dresses. This procession goes from all the major parts of the city Udaipur and come to an end at the Gangaur Ghat at Pichola lake. Apart from this, cultural events, folk dances, folk songs and other activities takes place in a series. In late evening, grand fireworks take place which surround all over the sky with their colorful lights and beams.
