Independence Day is the national festival of India which is celebrated on 15th of August every year to commemorate the triumph of independence over long British rule. The day is celebrated throughout the India with great honor and respect towards our freedom fighters. The celebrations includes mainly the national flag hosting, parades, singing national anthem and patriotic songs and to remember the great freedom leaders of our country . The main function is organised at Red Fort in New Delhi, the capital of India.

Independence Day is celebrated with great fervour and rejoices in all over the states and union territories of the country. The day is celebrated as a National Holiday throughout the county where flag hosting ceremonies are observed by all the local administrations in respective regions. The main event which takes place at Red Fort, New Delhi, is become the witness of the national flag hoisting by Prime Minister of India and delivers the national speech by him. The speech includes the achievements and objectives of the Government with the development numbers and vision for future projects.
Our country India got the independence from the long rule of British East India Company on the day of 15h August after a long battle from over the two centuries. The Britishers who came to India for doing and spreading their business primarily got attracted with the treasure that our country had in those times when India was designated as “Golden Bird”. They gradually tried to overtook the control over our administration from state to state and got successful also in capturing the entire control over the country. They got full support from those enthusiasts from India who got influenced with their vision and became the key helpers for them in expanding their regime. The biased and repressive policies of British rule made the people of India United which was the key success for the Independence of India.
At last on 15h June, 1947, the last British Viceroy of India, Lord Mount Batten declared the separation of British empire in India. The day is celebrated as the significance of innumerable heroic efforts of brave leaders of the country. Each and every patriotic soul watched with excitement and paid tribute to thousands of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom.
Men and women from all over India joined hands and fought for India’s freedom. It was the dream of free and autonomous India which motivated them to walk the path of struggle unselfishly.
The arrangements for the Independence Day’s celebration started one month before the day. Flag hoisting ceremonies, patriotic programs by several school children, skits, dance performances and appreciations to top performers from central, state services along with armed forces, school and college level compettitons are the main events during the Independence day.
