Introduction:

Dadri Cattle Fair is the biggest and only one festival in its own terms which continues for almost fifteen days. The cattle fair is organised in tha place Dadri which is 5 Kms far away from Balia district in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Time to Celebrate:

The Dadri Cattle fair is commenced from 18th of February every year.

Description:

The fifteen day Dadri Mela is basically a biggest cattle fair held every year for buying and selling of animals on largest scale. It is observed as the biggest fair of Uttar Pradesh. The carnival hosts various cultural programs organized as part of the Mela which adds some extra glitters to the event. Cattle and people from all over the state attend the fair.

 

How to Reach

By road
Dadri village, where the Mela is conducted, is located 5 km from Ballia town, closer to NH 31 and reaching Ballia by road is facilitated by a number of Buses operated by UPSRTC and private bus companies.

By rail
In Ballia railway station, which is in Varanasi Chapra line, about 35 trains stop daily including one Rajdhani express. There are other Railway Stations too such as Belthara Road close by connecting trains like Dadar Express to Gorakhpur and few others.

By air
Varanasi Airport is the nearest one for Ballia, where from one can take 120 km road travel in the north east direction.
