Saint Kabir Jayanti
Kabir Festival is held annually in multiple cities of India that continuous for a week long period by organizing various cultural events on each day. The main objective of Kanir Festival is to promote the messages given by Saint Kabir among the people through various activities like, music, documentaries, shows and discussions.
Saint Kabir was a renowned mystic poet of Hindi literature whose writings influenced the Indian people. He was born on 1398 AD and during his life he wrote many influential scriptures that influenced the Bhakti movement. He ranked among the world’s greatest poets whose straight forward approach gave new direction to the Indian philosophy.
The extravaganza of Kabir Festival provides an opportunity to listen grandeur of Kabir through music, songs and poetry. Artists from different parts of the country approaches this event in order to participate and show their inherent talents of folk music, dances, cultural and live music concerts.
The teaching of Kabir is more relevant in today’s era and it is the requirements of present time to teach youths about him and his mystic poems. In the procession several events organized in individual schools, colleges and communities during the festival. Series of film screenings, live music concerts by folk, classical and Sufi singers from India and Pakistan, discussions, seminars, an exhibition and outreach events takes place during the festival.
