Introduction:
Guru Gobind Singh Jyanti is the sacred and largely worshipped festival of Sikh community which was celebrated with great festivity. Guru Gobind Singh was the tenth Guru of Sikh religion and the festival is observed to honor the Gur and celebrate his birth date. He was born on 22nd December 1666, in city Patna of state Bihar. Though there are some varies in the date of his birthday celebration due to different sun and moon based Calendar but afterall according to Nanakshahi calendar it is widely celebrated on 5th January every year.

Guru Gobind Singh is the most celebrated and pious celebration of Sikh community, he is the tenth sacred Guru of the religion who always remembered for his greatness, intelligence, great warriorship and high spirit of kindness. People of Sikh Community remembers their worshipped Lord by offering prayers, devotees go to the Gurudwaras and sing devotional songs. They request the mercy of the Guru on them always so that they live happily and with prosperity. During the period of Gobind Singh, several fights were observed against Mughals by him. He even sacrifice his mother and four childen in these battles for the sake and protection of the people. Before his death in 1708 he written some writings to the Sikh scriptures and requested his followers and worshipers to take spiritual guidance out of the Guru Granth Sahib the holy book of the Sikhs. The foundation of collective Sikh body named Khalsa was declared by Guru Gobind Singh during his rule and it was declared by him on March 30, 1699 as the leader of Sikhs had been at helm of affairs and decision. On the jayanti day large human procession goes through all the important areas with singing and dancing on devotional songs and distributing the devotion towards Gobind Singh with great spirit.
